Options to meet your giving goals​

Legacy giving

Gates Philanthropy Partners accepts gifts of any size made in a will, a revocable trust agreement, an irrevocable trust agreement, or any other manner of non-probate disposition if they meet our contribution guidelines.

Because Gates Philanthropy Partners aligns gifts with programs supported by the Gates Foundation, it can absorb and distribute gifts of any size efficiently. For planned gifts, we do not have specific requirements or language for bequest documents.

Tributes

Gates Philanthropy Partners’ online giving platform offers options to recognize and honor the people you care about most. When making an online donation, you can select the type of tribute gift you’d like to make and then choose whether you’d like to send a customized email to share that you’ve made a gift.

Our customized options offer photography for holidays and meaningful moments—as well as selected photography from the Gates Foundation.

Workplace giving​

Gates Philanthropy Partners accepts matched gifts through your workplace giving. We do not require specific paperwork to process the gift.

After making your donation, you can provide your employer with the Gates Philanthropy Partners’ acknowledgement letter for gifts made with cash, check, publicly traded stock, or wire transfer.

In the coming months, you’ll be able to notify your employer when you make an online donation. Stay tuned.

Donor-advised fund​

Your donor-advised fund (DAF) gives you the opportunity to support Gates Philanthropy Partners today by recommending a grant via your DAF provider—or adding us to your future giving through your DAF’s legacy planning options.

Can I use my DAF in my legacy giving plans?

Through your DAF, you can recommend a grant or recurring grants during your lifetime to make an immediate impact. Most DAF sponsoring organizations have several options for how your DAF can be used for future charitable giving. Contact your DAF administrator to learn more about their offerings for legacy planning.
